Welcome

Hello!

Welcome to my Blog!

In my first post, I would like to share a few things which are very important on a personal level.

Firstly, I want to thank the professionals who have helped me make this blog a reality:

Patricia Vicente, my coach and mentor.

She is the one who guides me to discover more about my passion and to focus my professional career on new and amazing goals.

Thais Chavez, for her dedication and for helping me with the writings. After our journey through Hangzhou, we kept this amazing friend, so sweet and entrepreneurial.

Fernando Moneta and his whole team at Lovatech.

He and his team are responsible for guiding me through the world of new technologies and for giving me the best tools so that my job is really easy.

Thank you all for your help!

Secondly, I’d like to tell you that Asia is a fascinating continent!

Asia’s present, its constant changes, its contradictions, its different cultures, its people’s entrepreneurship and versatility are amazing and unique.

For more than ten years, Asia has been the place on earth that has allowed me to develop my professional career, to grow, to become a better person and to be happy with my family.

I hope that with my blog I will be able to help you know a little bit more about Asia, its relationship with fashion, and I expect that together we can make textile sourcing easy.

Lastly, I would like to tell you a story—which I’m sure many of you will know—that will govern my behavior when I write. A story I want to use as the grounding base to build this blog, our meeting point.

In ancient Greece, Socrates was famous for his wisdom and for the great respect he professed for everyone.

One day, an acquaintance run into the great philosopher and told him:

– Do you know what I heard about your friend?

– Hold on a minute –Socrates replied—before you tell me anything, I would like you to pass a little exam. It’s called the Triple Filter Test.

– Triple Filter?

– That’s correct –Socrates continued—Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to filter what you are going to say three times. That is why I call it the Triple Filter Test.

-The first filter is Truth. Are you absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?

– No –the man said—, actually I just heard about that and…

– Good –said Socrates—, so you don’t really know if it is true or not.

– Now allow me to apply the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is it something good what you are going to tell me about my friend?

– No, on the contrary…

– So you wish to tell me something bad about him, but you are not certain it is true.

– But I might want to hear it because there is one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Will it be useful for me to know what you are about to tell me about my friend?

– No, not really

– Alright –concluded Socrates—If what you want to tell me is neither true, nor good, nor even useful…

Why would I want to know it at all?
